MangaPuff Privacy Policy
MangaPuff ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use MangaPuff for iOS and its related support services (the "Services").
For questions about your information or this Policy, contact joanesmaggret@gmail.com.
1. Information We Process
The information involved depends on the features you use and the permissions you grant.
- Reading information. MangaPuff may process your favorites, bookshelf settings, recently viewed titles, reading progress, and search activity to provide the corresponding reading features.
- Device and technical information. This may include your device model, iOS version, app version, language settings, IP address, app-related identifiers, and diagnostic information needed to deliver content, investigate errors, and maintain security.
- Information you provide. If you contact support, we receive your email address, your message, and any attachments you choose to send. Please do not send passwords, full payment card details, or unnecessary sensitive information.
- Account information. If you use an account-based feature, we process the information needed to provide that feature, such as an account identifier, email address, and sign-in details. An external sign-in provider may share information that you authorize it to share.
- Purchase information. If you make a purchase through Apple's In-App Purchase system, Apple handles payment details. We may receive transaction and product identifiers, purchase dates, and entitlement status to provide access and assist with purchase issues. That payment system does not give MangaPuff your full payment card number.
Information stored solely on your device is not the same as information sent to us or to a service provider. Local storage, network requests, and optional account features may each handle different information.
2. How We Use Information
We use information as relevant to:
- Operate comic discovery, reading, bookshelf, and preference features.
- Maintain reading progress and help you return to a story.
- Deliver content and validate purchased access where applicable.
- Respond to support requests and communicate important service information.
- Investigate errors, improve reliability, prevent misuse, and protect the Services.
- Meet legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
If advertising or analytics is provided, related information is used for the stated advertising, measurement, or improvement purpose and is subject to required permissions and your choices.
Where a legal basis is required, processing may be necessary to provide services you request, meet a legal obligation, or pursue a legitimate interest such as security after considering your rights. Processing that requires consent takes place on that basis. Using the app does not replace a separate permission required by law or iOS.
3. Storage, Retention, and Security
Reading information and preferences may be stored on your device. Information needed for online features, support, or service operation may also be processed on servers. Deleting the app can remove local app data, but does not automatically remove information held elsewhere or in a device backup.
We keep personal information for no longer than needed for its purpose. In deciding how long to retain it, we consider whether you still use the relevant service, whether a support issue remains open, applicable recordkeeping duties, security needs, and the time needed to resolve disputes. Information no longer needed is deleted or made anonymous. Backup copies are removed through the backup lifecycle, subject to necessary legal retention.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, and misuse. No transmission or storage method can guarantee absolute security.
4. Sharing and Service Providers
Information may be disclosed in the following circumstances:
- Service operation. To providers that help deliver hosting, content, support, security, diagnostics, authentication, or purchase-related functions.
- Your choices. When you deliberately use a sharing function, authorize a connection, or ask us to disclose information.
- Legal and safety needs. Where required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect rights, or address security threats.
- Service transfers. As part of a transfer of the Services, subject to applicable safeguards and notice requirements.
Providers handling information on our behalf are required to protect it and use it for authorized purposes. External services that you choose to access may also have their own privacy terms.
If advertising or analytics partners process information, their activities remain subject to applicable law, required disclosures, and your available choices. Where a particular use qualifies as a sale or sharing of personal information under applicable law, any required notice and opt-out rights apply. You may contact us to ask about your choices.
5. iOS Permissions and Tracking
When an optional feature needs an iOS permission, the permission request explains its purpose. You can manage permissions in your device settings. Declining an optional permission may limit the related feature, but does not authorize unrelated collection.
Before tracking that requires Apple's App Tracking Transparency authorization or accessing the advertising identifier, we request the required authorization. We do not bypass a refusal through another identifier or device fingerprinting. You can review tracking choices in iOS privacy settings.
Tracking permission is separate from any other consent required for advertising or analytics. Refusing tracking does not necessarily prevent all advertisements or information processing needed to operate the app.
6. Your Rights and Deletion Requests
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to a competent privacy authority. Other opt-out or appeal rights may also apply.
Contact joanesmaggret@gmail.com to exercise these rights. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify and fulfill your request, and will respond within the applicable legal deadline.
If MangaPuff provides account registration, you can initiate deletion through the account-deletion option in the app. Support is also available to help with questions. Information that must be retained by law is limited to the relevant purpose.
Deleting the app or a MangaPuff account does not automatically cancel an Apple-billed subscription. Manage subscriptions separately through your Apple Account settings.
7. Children's Privacy
MangaPuff is not directed to children under 13, or under a higher minimum age where required by applicable law. An eligible minor should use the Services with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian where required.
If you believe personal information has been collected from a child who is not eligible to use the Services, contact us. We will investigate and remove information collected contrary to applicable requirements unless retention is legally required.
8. International Processing and Policy Updates
Information may be processed in a country other than your own where a relevant service or provider operates. We use appropriate safeguards for international transfers where required by applicable law. Use of the app alone is not blanket consent to such a transfer.
We may update this Policy when our practices or obligations change. The date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated, and additional consent obtained, where required.
